European pricing for the Gemballa Avalanche GTR 650 EVO-R starts from the equivalent of Dhs 1.8 million, including the cost of the 997-generation Porsche 911 Turbo base.
The insane off-roader is officially getting a limited production release. Facebook Share on Facebook Twitter Share on Twitter Pinterest Share on Pinterest Gemballa German aftermarket tuner Gemballa is the latest company to transform the Porsche 911 into a legit off-roader. We’ve seen similarly rugged takes on Stuttgart’s iconic sports car from Kelly-Moss Road and Race and Russell Built Fabrication. Gemballa’s so-called “Avalanche 4×4” first debuted as a prototype based on seventh-generation 991 911 at the 2017 Geneva Auto Show. Now the oddball off-roader is officially getting a limited production release, unlike many other equally wild concepts. Gemballa No performance specs have been released, but renderings show a lifted body, beefy off-road tires, carved exterior door panels, a pushbar, what appear to be carbon fiber air intakes, and an oversized rear spoiler. The Avalanche 4×4 is set to arrive in the next two years with “performance that will outshine all comparable vehicles,” Gemballa says. Meanwhile, Gemballa’s Luxury Customization Division currently offers a body kit for the 991 and current-gen 992 Porsche 911 dubbed “GTR 8XX Evo-R BiTurbo.” Gemballa In addition to aggressive exterior upgrades that include fender extensions, an enlarged carbon fiber wing and a carbon fiber engine cover, the conversion ups the output of twin-turbo flat-six to 818 horsepower. The vehicle can blast to to 62 mph in seconds and top out at over 230 mph, making it one of the fastest 911s we’ve ever seen. What’s more, a performance variant with 1,000-plus horsepower is in the works for this summer. In the world of Porsche tuners, Gemballa is one of the wilder companies. Starting out in 1981, Uwe Gemballa’s first creation was the Avalanche, based on the 911 3.2 Slantnose. Wider fenders, side strakes akin to what was seen on the Ferrari Testarossa and a host of interior upgrades were the order of the day.
Gemballa on Avalanche alert 2020-03-18 - Famous Porsche tuner Gemballa has revealed a wild off-road-specification 911. While it’s only been shown as a computergenerated rendering, the firm seems keen to put it into production, having built a reputation for creating some outlandish modified Porsches.
The monstrosity you're looking at is Gemballa's newest model, which the German tuning house calls the Avalanche. Based off the 991-generation 911 Turbo, Gemballa has upped the Turbo's already-monumental power to nearly 810 horsepower and 516 lb-ft. of torque, which, arguably, should make it fast enough for bystanders to barely notice it. Given its retina-burning, Barney-like hue, however, it's unlikely they'll miss it. What a from the power increase, Gemballa has given the Turbo-based Avalanche an "extroverted exterior design," which is certainly one way to describe it. Starting at the front of the car, the front fascia is clad in carbon fiber, there's new teardrop-shaped metalwork underneath the headlights, and a questionable carbon fiber power dome/shaker hood-looking object that juts out incongruously from the rest of the front hood the rear, a series of three spoilers that would look more appropriate on a military aircraft sit on top of a bulbous rear bumper assembly, which is cloaked in honeycomb grills—hey, more power means more heat. Four exhaust pipes that resemble nuclear missile silos are situated above a massive carbon fiber CEO, Steffen Korbach, claims that both the Avalance and the company's other new model, the GTR 780 EVO-R—both of which will debut at the Geneva Motor Show—will set records. Funny, we didn't realize there was a record for "biggest waste of a perfectly good car."Gemballa
The Marsien has a full carbon fiber body and its design was created by Alan Derosier, the creator of the Porsche 908 design study. The lines are smooth and timeless. Marc Gemballa Marc Gemballa
2002 Gemballa GTR 750 EVO Where Porsche stops, Gemballa takes off. As a long time tuner of Porsches, Uwe Gemballa is no stranger to the Flat-6 platform. His tuning takes Porsche performance from outstanding to extreme. The example of interest is a one-of car created for a customer in Dubai. A true masterpiece of the peak of Uwe Gemballa’s creative work in Porsche and Mercedes cars, the Avalanche and its cabriolet version, the Cyrrus, have become true icons of the 1980’s design and style.
